I’m sure you most likely already have an extensive email marketing list and plan in place, but if you don’t, consider the following:
Build your list
If you’re anything like me, the thought of building an email list can be overwhelming. Do you buy emails? How do you get people to sign up? How many emails do you need? Will people even want to sign up?
These are all valid concerns and the bottom line is, if you have a business that provides useful products or services, there are people looking to hear from you! So where do you start? First things first. If you do not have a method of capturing contact information (name and email address) through your website, I would highly recommend integrating one. I personally like the “Subscribe to my mailing list” pop up box option. This forces the end user to take action. They will either decide to exit out of the pop up window without signing up for your mailing list, or decide that they really like what they’ve seen on your site and would like to see more from you, so they sign up!
You will want to ensure that you have a compelling and visually appealing website so that when the viewer is presented with the option to sign up for your mailing list, they are more likely to do so than not. You don’t need a large email list to start sending out updates, newsletters and promotions! Start immediately; no matter the size of your current list!
Create Awesome Content Whatever industry you’re in, creating compelling content will help to position you (or your business) as the industry expert. In doing so, you will build trust and credibility with your target market, which will make them more likely to do business with you!
There are a few guidelines to you will want to follow when creating content:
Research your subject matter.
Make sure all information you’re presenting is factual and if it is your professional opinion, be sure to inform your audience.
If any of your content is not your original ideas, site your sources.
Create Compelling Campaigns
Creating an awesome email marketing campaign starts with choosing and customizing your email marketing templates. Having awesome written content is great, but if the look and feel of your email campaigns do not present a “high quality” feel, it is likely that your content will not be taken seriously. Your templates should be not only professional, but engaging. There should be a visual pull for the recipient to keep reading, keep scrolling and keep interacting with your email.
